Buena Vista, Georgia Photos

Matt Moneymaker was sent these photos from Buena Vista, Georgia, once the original photos are made available, we will post them here. See below for Matt's comments on this.

I finally spoke with the hunter who obtained the trail cam photos below, in March of 2020. He’s a very credible old southern deer hunter. For a list of reasons several of us suspect it’s a real Sasquatch. I won’t provide that whole list of reasons because it involves markers for determining authenticity in circumstances like these, which we don’t want every would-be hoaxer to know.

The photos were obtained in Georgia about 50 miles east of the Alabama Border generally outside Buena Vista. No further specifics on location can be released, by request. An effort is now underway to obtain the original photos from the SD card from the trail camera.

The hunter wasn’t sure what the figure was in the photos when he first noticed them last Spring. He was honestly not interested in the Bigfoot subject at all. He was aware but not informed enough to report it to a Bigfoot research group. He lives to hunt deer and he’s very rural. If he hadn’t shown the images to a hunter friend, who took the photos of a laptop screen and then texted them to another friend who contacted the BFRO, then you wouldn’t be seeing them at all.

It’s a long complicated story regarding the SD card with the two images. It was put back into a trail cam (one of many he owns) after the hunter friend photographed the laptop screen. That’s how they share images of deer. You don’t need to see much detail for deer images. The original images from the card were not copied to the laptop (he doesn’t know how to do that), or emailed (doesn’t do that either), so they’re still on the SD card. Retrieving them sounds simple, right?

The location is in GA. The hunter lives in FL and doesn’t drive up to the location very often. Fortunately he went up there recently and retrieved 16 different unmarked SD cards. He brought them down to Florida. A lady he knows has all the cards and will look through them. Each SD card has 1,000’s of images from before and after these were obtained.

Obviously the original photos will show more detail. It remains to be seen how much more detail will be visible.

We hope she finds the original images. There is no timetable on that. Obviously there’s a possibility she won’t find them. Even if we assume she won’t find them, it doesn’t hurt to show what we have so far.

It may take weeks or months before a reconstruction can be done at the site to show the height and girth of the figure. It might be bigger or smaller than an average adult human, but it definitely looks bulkier in all the right places.

The guy who will organize the reconstruction and analyze the images is computer genius Robert Evans from Microsoft. It will be tricky because access to this private land is tightly controlled. The two senior hunters who have permission to be there may have to be trained by Evans to do the reconstruction so measurements can be obtained. More later ...

Yes, the original images will be posted here as soon as they become available. Hopefully AP Images will contact the BFRO to arrange for distribution if they receive media requests for newspaper licensing, etc., of that original images, like they did when the Jacobs Creature became widely reported.

These images will hopefully encourage more hunters to have trail cameras running year round when deer feeders are running year round, not just ten days before the opening of deer season. That is more expensive with batteries and more trips to replace them and to check cards, but it is potentially worth it if you’re in a squatchy area. A deer feeder is a fixed point that has much higher odds than nearly any other point because deer come by regularly so their predators do too. Sasquatches prey upon deer.

The deer hunter who got the photos does not want his identity released because notoriety could interfere with his access to this property. That is his priority consideration.

I would like him to receive all the credit and admiration he is due but that thought worries him.

His identity doesn’t need to be released but that complicates how the figure should be named. By BFRO convention it should be named after him — his last name — like the Patterson Creature or Jacobs Creature. It can’t be the “Georgia Creature” because there will be more photos from Georgia eventually. It can still have location reference though, without being too specific. The location is very generally outside Buena Vista, GA. Therefore the figure should be called the “Buena Creature” or just “Buena”.
