John Freitas

John Freitas is a veteran California bigfoot researcher and a former curator of the BFRO. He is credited by some researchers as the creator of Call Blasting, but the origins of the practice are unclear. He is sometimes referred to as the "Master Blaster" or "Godfather of Call Blasting." Whether Freitas himself uses such titles is disputed.

Freitas was one of the first investigators to publicly assert that the so-called "Sonoma Video" was a hoax. The 2005 video, supported by the BFRO as showing a real sasquatch, turned out to be staged by the magician duo Penn & Teller [1] for a television program.

Freitas was married to fellow researcher and bigfoot witness Montra Freitas, but they divorced in recent years.
