(Historic) Robert Dodson

Robert Lee Dodson of Fort Worth, [Texas], born the fourth of seven children, passed away at age 60 on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.
SERVICE: He will have a shared family remembrance in Tolar, Texas, and a private memorial in Zafra, Okla. Robert was an avid fisherman, Bigfoot researcher and outdoorsman. He was a quiet man who caught the ear of many. Robert was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. He loved cats and potted meat.
SURVIVORS: He leaves behind two children, five grandchildren, five siblings, numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

In May, 2018, an update from Robert’s daughter, said that although Robert’s preliminary prognosis was favorable from cancer, after surgery he was diagnosed with malignant, grade 4, Glioblastoma tumor and given 6 months to a year to live with treatment.
Caryn Dodson left this on Facebook in tribute to her dad:
“As most of you know, my dad left yesterday. At exactly 3:00am, he took his last breath and started off on his journey. We were there to see him off. He was always a lone wolf, quiet type; fishing, camping, outdoorsy, and in many ways, I take after him. If you knew him, you knew you’d spend most of your time talking at him rather than talking with him, but, no matter, he was always listening. One thing he was eager to talk about though was his Bigfoot research. And that’s probably where most of you knew him from; his Facebook groups, YouTube channels, and Bigfoot community engagements. I’m grateful that he found such kinship and personal success within your world. He had a hard 60 years on this planet, but these last handful of years he was truly happy and at peace out in the forest doing what he enjoyed and was passionate about. I want to thank Mark for making that possible by inviting my dad to set up his research camp on his property. A big thank you to Eudell for being a great friend and research partner to him these last couple of years. I know you and the Tuckers will carry on his legacy. Thank you to Bill, Sheila, Dee and Jan for being caring friends and sending him supplements, treats and special handmade cards over these past couple of months. Thank you Glen and Linda and the rest of the family for being there for him. A special thank you to my partner Zac for doing the hard, unpleasant stuff with me to keep my dad comfortable and make him feel welcome in our home. My dad may not have said his thanks or expressed his appreciation to any of you himself, but I know he felt it. He was a special person. He was my dad. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by me, my brother, our children and many, many more family and friends. May he forevermore find friendly Bigfoot and good fishing.”
In recent years, Robert Dodson was known to wear a wig due to his brain tumor.
Robert Dodson was celebrated for his many Bigfoot videos of what he felt were images of the hairy giants in the wild. They are easily discovered across the internet. Some felt they were. Others did not. Dodson was sincere in his pursuit.
