(Group) Mid-America Bigfoot Research Center
D.W. Lee founded the Mid-America Bigfoot Research Center (MABRC) in 1998 with the specific goal of providing a bigfoot research group for Northeastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas. The organization and its related web site was originally known as the Green Country Bigfoot Research Center. As the group expanded its membership the decision was made to change the “Green County” part of the name to "Mid-America" in 2002.
The MABRC web site features an ongoing chat center and discussion forums, along with a variety of reference materials and group activity reports. A series of podcasts called “The Bigfoot Field Guide” features interviews with members. Starting in 2007 the MABRC sponsored a conference in conjunction with the Honobia Bigfoot Festival, held in Honobia, Oklahoma. Professor Jeff Meldrum of Idaho State University was the featured speaker in 2008. The MABRC stopped doing the Honobia Bigfoot Conference in 2010 after failing to come to terms on monetary agreements, and opted instead to start their own Oklahoma Bigfoot Symposium in Stilwell, OK every year on the second weekend of March.
