The Bigfoot Information Project (BIP) was started in 2004 by Brian Brown to house his various web-based initiatives. The mission of the BIP is to advance the understanding and acceptance of the North American great ape known as bigfoot or sasquatch through the presentation of high-quality information and analysis. While other organizations collect reports of encounters and sightings or conduct primary research into the animal, the BIP's sole reason for being is collecting and presenting information about the sasquatch.

The BIP consists of two channels:

  • The Bigfoot Information Project website (www.bigfootproject.org) - Presents articles and interviews from leading researchers and investigators. This information is presented in a magazine-style editorial fashion with the point of view that sasquatch exists.
  • The Bigfoot Information Project Podcast (BIPcast) - Produced by Brian Brown, this podcast series consists of interviews of leading researchers and investigators. Having produced six episodes thus far, the series has evolved over time to be widely considered as the preeminent example of a sasquatch-related podcast.

Future development

In June of 2007, Brian announced his intention of forming a more permanent organization to manage and promote the BIP and its mission. This may be in the form of a non-profit organization or some other body. His ultimate goal is to establish the BIP as a permanent fixture in the bigfoot community.
