(Historic) William "Bill" Brann
HUDSON FALLS
William C. “Rebel” Brann, 85, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at his home with his wife by his side.
Born May 11, 1938 in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Elmer and Barbara (Weldon) Brann.
Bill attended Hudson Falls Schools. He was employed for many years as a foreman at Jaxon Manufacturing. He also worked for the Hudson Falls School District, and Chase Bag.
On November 20, 1966, Bill married Phyllis Dupell at St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls with Rev. Leo Marcil officiating. Bill and Phyllis were communicants of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church for many years.
Bill had a love of history and archeology. He was a member of the New York State Archaeological Society, and could often be found searching for items such as Indian arrowheads and other Adirondack artifacts. He even co-authored a book entitled “Monsters of the Northwoods”. He collected stamps for over 70 years and had an extensive collection of World War II memorabilia. Bill also loved photography and classic cars. He and Phyllis enjoyed attending car shows and working on his 1980 custom Corvette. He will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sister-in-law Dorothy Brann, his brother-in-law Ray Fitzgerald, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Phyllis Brann, his brother Gary Brann, several nieces and nephews, along with his beloved Siberian Husky Cimarron.
