(Protocols) Evidence Submittal Protocol
(Courtesy of the Mid-America Bigfoot Research Center as part of their extensive listing of protocols.)
Please Note: This is an older protocol that has since been replaced by the Evidence Review Board Protocols of the MABRC. Those will be posted in there own separate article.
The MABRC will maintain the highest degree of professionalism in the analysis of evidence submitted to the organization, whether from MABRC Researchers, Independent Researchers or the public at large.
This documentation serves as guidance for all evidence submitted to the MABRC for analysis.
Photos: The most common evidence submitted is photographs, whether film or digital, and with today’s technology, is easiest to hoax.
For photo submissions, this is what will occur.
A place will be set up on the forum and the website, with it saying that we accept photo submissions to evaluate.
A statement in the following manner should be foremost on the location, saying that all submissions will go to a review board and will be protected by the submitter’s copyright legal claim. (The review board will be comprised of members of the MABRC, picked at random)
When someone submits a photo, we need to request a witness report be filled out for the events surrounding the picture, type of camera used, chain of custody, the importance of a comparison picture (if one can be obtained), a copy of the original, and a copy of any enhanced copy, along with a list of what has been enhanced or modified on it. If the picture that is sent is not the original copy, but an enhanced, it will be refused.
MABRC will reserve the right to refuse or terminate the evaluation if the submitter fails to provide all requested information ask of them within a week of the request.
The review board will then review the picture, talk to the witnesses (If applicable) follow up on leads, and discuss it. If the picture shows great promise, an affidavit signed in front of a notary will be requested.
A vote of the review board will then be majority rules, before submission of the results.
The picture and all available information related to it will then be submitted to the MABRC membership to review and get their input.
If a MABRC Member posts a picture on the forum and begins making claims that it is a Bigfoot on the forum, they will be asked for a copy of the original photo so that it may be evaluated. This is done for the protection of the MABRC as a whole, should a member refuse to allow the picture to be evaluated and analyzed, the picture will be removed from the forum.
