Honobia

Honobia is a small town on the border of Pushmataha and Leflore Counties in Oklahoma. The town sits in the scenic Kiamichi mountains, and the forests nearby have been the scene of numerous bigfoot sightings and encounters over the years. It was here that a bigfoot was reportedly shot in the "siege of Honobia". The creatures were raiding freezers at night and scavenging deer. One was shot after getting too close to a cabin, only to be carried off by other bigfoot.

It's also the site for the annual Honobia Bigfoot Festival and Conference, however, the conference has leaned very heavily on the woo side of Bigfooting and there are also lots of reports of hoaxing being done to promote tourism in the area. One of the promoters of the festival has been quoted as saying, "It's time to fleece the tourists on their money."
